The Aadhaar Card is a unique identification card that is assigned to an Indian National when his/her application gets approved and the Aadhaar number is assigned to the person.

The Aadhaar number is a 12-digit unique number that identifies people. It also serves to be the identity card for all the individuals having it and it can be linked to bank accounts, pension schemes, UAN, PAN Card, etc.

In order to avail the benefits offered by the Indian Government. Whilst having an Aadhaar card is not compulsory, but its beneficial to have one for availing numerous benefits.

Aadhaar Card Update Status
Aadhaar card is updated in the instances when the information printed on it are incorrect or if a person wants to modify the details.

Steps to check Aadhaar card update status
Once you have successfully updated or changed some details in your Aadhaar card and you want to check the update status, follow the below-mentioned steps for doing so:
1. Visit the website https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/web/guest/check-status
2. In order to check the status, enter the Aadhar Number.
3. In the next column, enter the URN.
4. In the last column of text verification, enter the numeral code that is displayed in front of you. You can also change the code by clicking the blue symbol next to the code.
5. Once all the details are entered, click the Get Status option.

By following the above-mentioned details, your Aadhaar Card Correction Status will appear on the screen.

Aadhaar Card Status Enquiry
Aadhaar card status enquire can be done in a number of ways. In this section, we are going to discuss about the process of checking the card status online. There are 2 ways to do so:

I. With Acknowledgement Number
If you have access to your acknowledgement number, then you can check the status of your Aadhaar with the help of the below-mentioned steps-
1. Click the link https://uidai.gov.in to visit the official website of UIDAI.
2. In the left-hand side section of the webpage, under the Aadhaar Enrollment section, click on the second option-Check Aadhaar Status.
3. https://resident.uidai.gov.in/check-aadhaar-status website will be opened on your screen.
4. Enter your Enrollment ID in the box present in front of it. The format in which the ID has to be entered is- EID (1234/12345/12345)
5. Entering the Date/Time is optional. If you want, you can enter the date and time on which you registered for Aadhaar. The format for entering date and time is (dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm:ss).
6. In the Enter Security Code dialog box, enter the numeral code that is displayed in front of it.
7. Once all the details are filled, click on the Check Status.

The status of your Aadhaar will be displayed once you will do the above-mentioned procedure successfully.

II. Without Acknowledgement Number
In case you no longer remember your Enrollment ID and do not have the acknowledgement slip as well, you can check the status of your Aadhaar with the help of the following procedure-
1. Click the link https://uidai.gov.in to visit the official website of UIDAI.
2. In the left-hand side of the webpage, under the Aadhaar Enrollment section, select the last option Retrieve Lost UID/EID. Once you click on that option, you will be redirected to a new page.
3. On the left-hand side of the webpage, you will have two options- Aadhaar Number (UID) or Enrollment Number (EID).
4. In case you want to retrieve the lost Enrollment Number, you will have to select the Enrollment Number (EID) option.
5. Following this, fill all your personal details like your Full Name, Email or your Mobile Number in the blank spaces provided.
6. In the Enter Security Code blank space, enter the numeral code that is displayed in front of you.
7. Once you have filled all the details, click on Send One Time Password.
8. You will receive an OTP on your phone or your email, depending on the detail that you have provided.
9. Once you receive the OTP, enter it in the blank space in front of Enter OTP.
10. Click on Verify OTP

Once you successfully perform all the above steps, your Aadhaar Enrollment number will be sent on your phone or email.

Ways to Check Aadhaar Card Status
There ae various ways by which you can check the Aadhaar Card status. They are:
• Acknowledgement number
• Post office
• SMS
• Aadhaar Mobile App

Aadhaar Card Status by Enrollment No Only
If you have access to your acknowledgment number, then you can check the status of your Aadhaar with the help of the below-mentioned steps-
1. Click the link https://uidai.gov.in to visit the official website of UIDAI.
2. In the left-hand side section of the webpage, under the Aadhaar Enrollment section, click on the second option-Check Aadhaar Status.

Aadhaar Card Status by Phone Number
You can also know the status of your Aadhaar card with the help of your phone number via messages or SMS.

You will just need to type UID STATUS <14-digit Enrollment number> and send it to 51969.

For example, if your Enrollment ID is 98765432109821, then you need to type UID STATUS 98765432109821 and send it to the number 51969.

In case your Aadhaar card has already been issued to you, you will receive a text message that will display your Aadhaar number in it. However, if your Aadhaar card is not generated yet, you will get a message showing the present status of your card.

Check Aadhaar Card Status by Aadhaar Mobile App
You can also check the status of your Aadhaar card with the help of Aadhaar Mobile app. This app will show all the details like name, date of birth, address, gender and even the photograph of an Aadhaar Card holder. The app can be downloaded from Google Play app store.

Aadhaar Card Status by SMS
You can also check the status of your Aadhaar card by SMS or text message. All you need to do is, type UID STATUS <14-digit Enrollment number> and send it to 51969.

For example, if your Enrollment ID is 98765432109821, then you need to type UID STATUS 98765432109821 and send it to the number 51969.

In case your Aadhaar card has already been issued to you, you will receive a text message that will display your Aadhaar number in it. However, if your Aadhaar card is not generated yet, you will get a message showing the present status of your card.

What is EID Enrollment ID Number?
EID or Enrollment ID number is a unique 14-character number that given to every user who registers for an Aadhaar Card. The enrollment number enables you to check the status of your Aadhaar card and hence should be kept safely for future references.

3. You will be redirected to a new webpage with the name Aadhaar Self Service Update Portal.
4. In the last line of the webpage, click on the option CLICK HERE.
5. To start with the procedure, fill your Aadhaar no in the blank space in front of Enter your Aadhaar Number.
6. Enter the numeric code in the blank space provided to you.
7. Then click on the button Send OTP.
8. Once you get the OTP or One Time Password on your phone number linked to your Aadhaar, enter it in the blank space provided.
9. Enter the code and click on Submit button.
10. In the Data Update Request tab, change the details that are incorrect or have to be modified.
11. Once you change the details, you will have to update the soft copies of all your documents in order to update/correct/modify the Aadhaar card.
12. As soon as you are done with the above, you will receive a URN number that will help you in checking the update status of your Aadhaar card.

What details can be changed in Aadhaar card?
As an Aadhaar card user, you will be allowed to change the below-mentioned details only-
1. Your Name
2. Date of Birth
3. Your Address
4. Mobile Number (Registered with your Aadhar number)

Documents Require for Aadhaar Card Updating/Correction
In order to update or correct your Aadhaar card details, you require following details and documents-
1. Aadhaar Number
2. The mobile number that is linked to your Aadhaar
3. Documents of proof of verification- Proof of Address, Proof of Date of Birth, and Proof of Identity.

Check Aadhaar card status without Acknowledgement details
